Savi’s products are designed to inform decisions related to these shipments and to help clients optimize performance to minimize expensive disruptions. Savi’s Visibility software provides views into where a client’s goods are at all times, even over the ocean by using an IoT-enabled supply chain. Users can assess the location, condition and history of their assets while they are on the move and can receive immediate alerts when a shipment is stationary beyond a preconfigured window of time in a high-risk location.
Working with the client, users, and a project manager and designer from our team, I led a successful variation of Google’s design sprint (below) to discover areas of opportunities to improve their existing supply chain application. The challenge of displaying dozens of data points in the fewest number of screens was overcome by ongoing team collaboration, planned activities and multiple rounds of low- and high-fidelity interactive wireframes resulting in tools and reports which effectively support the daily activities of Savi’s users.

Medium-fidelity wireframes (below) were used over multiple rounds to test ideas which were originally generated on whiteboard. Use of screen space to display multiple data points and alerts was critical throughout the project.
Dashboards were found to be an area of opportunity as were summary "reports" (Insights). Higher-fidelity visuals were created for updates at-a-glance. Google Maps were proposed as a solution to provide location information for shipments in progress.
